The traditional tempeh-making process is a long one. Dry whole soybeans are boiled, drained and hulled; soaked and prefermented for 24 hours; boiled again for an hour, drained and cooled; inoculated with Rhizopus oligosporus or another Rhizopus strain; wrapped in banana leaves; and allowed to ferment at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours. In addition to the mold, numerous bacteria, yeast and other microorganisms proliferate in tempeh. |
However, soy-containing infant formulas contain many supplemental items including vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and more."
"May want to"? Soy milk is so dangerous to infants that commercial manufacturers such as WestSoy and others carry strong warnings on their cartons. Indeed, news headlines about babies severely damaged by soy milk used as a substitute for infant formula sent ripples through the health-food industry in 1990. |

If people really knew just how much they could prevent chronic disease with these plant extracts, medicinal herbs, vitamins, minerals, and supplements, the pharmaceutical industry would collapse overnight.
The defenders of "Big Pharma" and of organized medicine have realized that they can't win the information war. They can't prevent people from finding out how to be healthy. Believe me, they've tried! They've tried through censorship, oppression, influence, and even attempts to regulate medical information on the internet. |

This stage has been shown to add minerals and reduced ions that help restore the natural acid/alkaline levels in the blood. The super hydrating quality of its water also maximizes detoxification of the body's waste byproducts. The company has scheduled a series of independent clinical studies to establish the efficacy of its filter for improved hydration, detoxification, endurance, and accelerated muscle recovery. This system is highly effective at providing safe drinking water at your tap. See www.wellnessfilter.com. |

And yet their own medical journal evidence, to which they impart impressive degrees of reliability and stature, is almost entirely based on fraudulent science, designed specifically to achieve a statistical "success" using any means necessary: fudging the numbers, removing samples that don't fit the desired curve, burying trials that showed negative results, confusing correlation with causation and a hundred other devious tricks. |

In nature, fluorine is found combined with minerals and known as fluoride. Commercial production of fluorine began after World War II, prompted by the requirements of the atomic bomb. The U.S. Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry lists fluoride as among the top 20 of 275 substances that pose the most significant threat to human health.13
Yet fluoride is promoted as a healthy mineral needed to prevent cavities. |

All of this also goes to show why people who pursue healthy diets tend to have such a positive outlook and outstanding mental health -- it's the foods, stupid, because the food greatly affects your mental state, and if you eat healing foods, and foods rich in vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients, then you're going to have healthy mental function and will probably never experience depression, especially if you combine these foods with natural sunlight. |
Molasses contains most of the nutrition of the original food, including the vitamins, minerals, and various compounds such as uridine. It is this molasses that's normally sent off to be used in livestock feed, and yet what we're finding here with this research is that this molasses can help prevent depression. Eating molasses is part of a food strategy that's just as good as antidepressant drugs. |

I've also created a free report called "Beat the Bird Flu virus" that lists the top antiviral vitamins, minerals, nutritional supplements, medicinal herbs, amino acids and products. The report is available as a free download on www.truthpublishing.com.
So if there is an outbreak of the bird flu virus, the solution is readily available if people would just get the right information. That information should include knowledge about the antiviral properties of these medicinal herbs and supplements. But of course, the public won't ever be told that. |

The government (the taxpayers, actually) should provide free vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients to the population, especially pregnant women and children, so that we can prevent birth defects and behavioral disorders early on. We would save countless dollars down the road. This is something I've supported for a long time and I will continue to promote.
But of course, nothing is free. American taxpayers would be footing the bill, but it is a wise investment. |
Malnourished children weren't getting crucial minerals like zinc and iron, and they weren't getting the B vitamins they needed to develop healthy nervous systems. And a healthy nervous system is a prerequisite for mental and emotional health and stability.
Now let's talk about these nutrients in a little more detail and explore why these nutritional deficiencies are so widespread. Zinc is perhaps the single most common nutritional deficiency in the American population. Estimates are that more than 80% of the population is deficient in zinc. |

China was self-sufficient in food, textiles, most minerals, and all the other necessities of life. For more than two centuries of trade with Europeans, the Chinese, the greatest preindustrial traders, had accepted only copper, golc, and silver in exchange. The enormous rise in the consumption of tea in England, which was replicated in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and the British colonies, could be supplied at that date only from China, and apparently only in exchange for bullion. |

Osmotic Laxatives
Compounds that attract water into the digestive tract add moisture to the stool. This softens it and may even help hurry it along. Such agents are called osmotic laxatives. We've already discussed sugarless gum, which works in this manner. It also exemplifies the downside of these laxatives: Getting the balance just right can be difficult. |

Nutritional costs and benefits form a fundamental part of the balance—preferred foods generally pack more energy, proteins, vitamins, or minerals per serving than avoided foods. But there are other costs and benefits that may override the nutritive value of foods and make them good or bad to eat. Some foods are highly nutritious, but people spurn them because too much time and effort are needed to produce them, or because of the adverse effects they have on soils, animal and plant life, and other aspects of the environment. |

A series of cases of acute viral hepatitis (page 220) in India were reportedly treated successfully by a combination of picrorhiza with a variety of minerals.12 A number of similar reports have appeared in Indian literature over the years. No double-blind clinical trials have yet been published, however.
Two preliminary trials suggest that picrorhiza may improve breathing in asthma patients and reduce the severity of asthma (page 32).13'14 Although, a follow-up double-blind trial did not confirm these earlier trials. |

Water must bring all minerals and nutrients required for metabolism into the cells and remove any substances that can damage the cell. It must be able to protect the cell membrane from damage and invasion. Second, since water is involved in every function of the body, it must act as a conductor of electrochemical activity, such as neurotransmission, by transferring information from one nerve cell to another smoothly and efficiently. When water with a weak electromagnetic signal enters nerve cells, the synapses cannot generate strong impulses between cells. |

Although antinutrients known as phytates in most soybean products block proper absorption of calcium, iron, zinc and other minerals, fermentation produces the enzyme phytase, which reduces phytate levels substantially. Microorganisms also pump up the levels of the B vitamins riboflavin, niacin, niacinamide, B6, pantothenic acid and folate, although they may slightly decrease levels of thiamine.1113 Fermentation also increases the levels of vitamin K, needed for healthy bones.14 Strong antioxidants have been reported in tempeh. |

The quality, content, and activity of the water in our body, coupled with its stabilization of bacteria and all our other cells, will inevitably affect how well we age and how well our body can control disease. and creating a far more rapid aging process, which in turn tends to lead to all manner of degenerative diseases. |

Digestive difficulties begin even before this level of acidity is reached:
Clinical research by Dr. M. T. Morter (Arkansas, U.S.A.) has shown that if the anabolic urinary and saliva pH (measured immediately upon awakening) is below 6.8, we can be relatively certain that digestive support must be provided. Controlled clinical studies by Dr. Paul Yanick (Pasadena, U.S.A.) have confirmed Dr. Morter's findings and recorded that intracellular assimilation of nutrients is significantly decreased when the anabolic pH is below 6.8. |

Propolis contains protein, amino acids (page 465), vitamins, minerals, and flavonoids (page 516).9' 10' 11 For this reason, some people use propolis as a general nutritional supplement, although it would take large amounts of propolis to supply meaningful amounts of these nutrients. The best time to take vitamins or minerals is with meals. Multiples taken between meals sometimes cause stomach upset (page 260) and are likely not to be as well absorbed.
What is it?
N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is an altered form of the amino acid cysteine (page 502), which is commonly found in food and synthesized by the body.
NAC helps break down mucus. Double-blind research has found that NAC supplements improved symptoms and prevented recurrences in people with chronic bronchitis (page 80).1'2'3 NAC may also protect lung tissue through its antioxidant (page 467) activity. |
Nettle leaf is rich in the minerals calcium and iron, is and mildly diuretic. Nettle enriches and increases the flow of breast milk and restores the mother's energy following childbirrh.76
In one study, the addition of lavender (page 701) oil to a bath was more effective than a placebo in relieving perineal pain after childbirrh (the perineum is the area between the vulva and the anus.)77 The improvement was not statistically significant, however, so more research is needed to determine whether lavender oil is truly effective. |

Green tea contains volatile oils, vitamins, minerals, and caffeine, but the primary constituents of interest are the polyphenols, particularly the catechin called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). The polyphenols are believed to be responsible for most of green tea's roles in promoting good health.1
Green tea has been shown to mildly lower total cholesterol (page 223) levels and improve the cholesterol profile (decreasing LDL "bad" cholesterol and increasing HDL "good" cholesterol) in most,2'3' 4'5 but not all,6 studies. |
