My professional opinion is that Robert Barefoot's knowledge and experience with minerals and other natural substances and their application for the treatment of illness is quite unique. In fact, I am not aware of any other individual who possesses the knowledge and expertise in this very important and expanding field as Mr. Barefoot. |
All the products recommended in this book are all-natural vitamins, minerals, herbs, homeopathics, and the like. In addition to giving the specific product by brand name, the book also tells you exactly where to buy that product. It gives you an 800 number, a website address, and ordering information. I actually sent this book to the Federal Trade Commission and asked them if I could sell it. They told me I could. It was amusing to me the reasons why. |
When you do chelation you are putting natural substances into your body that chemically bond with toxic materials that are in your body such as minerals, metals, and chemicals. The chelating agents in either the oral formulation you are taking or the intravenous chelation formula encircle the toxic mineral or metal and carry it from the body via the urine and feces. There are several books written on chelation. Chelation is an inexpensive natural treatment that can cure and prevent disease. It is a natural cure they don't want you to know about. |

The new Daily Values for vitamins and minerals, formerly referred to as Minimum Daily Requirements, evolved based on the discovery of essential nutrients that when lacking caused nutritional deficiency diseases. A lack of Vitamin C causes scurvy, a lack of Vitamin D causes rickets, a lack of B12 or iron causes anemia, and so on. These stone-age concepts of nutrient needs serve a purpose, but they are woefully lacking when it comes to the general health needs of individuals. |

Could it be that this particular person is deficient in some vitamins, minerals, or other nutrients? The doctor never asks for the cause, he never tries to find the cause.
If you truly want to be healthy, you cannot be treating symptoms. You can't just try to suppress the symptoms. You must ask what the cause is. By doing this you will eliminate or reduce symptoms in the future. When you just suppress a symptom what occurs is something else is going to develop later on, and it will probably be much more serious and much more severe. |

These are very healthy snack foods because they contain easily digestible sugars and a high density of vitamins, minerals and fibre per unit weight.
Edible gums, mainly from Acacia species, are water-soluble polysaccharides that yield simple sugars when digested. Gels (slimy polysaccharides dissolved in water) have become popular for their supposed health properties and are nowadays often included in medicinal products and health tonics. An example is aloe leaf gel, which has become the basis of a very large industry supplying health drinks and food supplements. |

One of the ways anthropologists date human fossils is by looking at skull teeth. The more modern the fossil, the more tooth decay. Analyses of striations on fossilized teeth show no decay or premature wear when hominids ate a raw-vegetation diet. Most paleontologists agree that tooth decay coincided with the discovery of fire and accelerated with the advent of agriculture. |
Ocean water contains 90 minerals and un-assayable monoatomic mineral elements. Ocean water is perhaps the most highly mineralized substance on Earth. Ocean water can be added to soils in 20 to 1 (20 parts pure water to 1 part ocean water) or 30 to 1 or 40 to 1 concentrations. Even more dilute homeopathic applications can be tried (such 100 to 1 or 1,000 to 1 ratios). Interestingly, both Rudolf Steiner and Viktor Schauberger seem to favor homeopathic methods for healing weak soils.
MINERAL TRADE-OUT
1 Discover rock dust. |
After a sufficient period of eating Sunfoods at a 100% level (usually between six months to three years), the body will begin to purge acids and replace minerals. Mineral trade-out can be instigated by herbal cleanses which tend to stir up toxic, acidic residues in the body and intestines. If one is eating a diet high in demineralized raw food, sweet fruit with low green-leafy vegetables, mineral trade-out may occur sooner (usually less than six months). |
Usually they contain all essential amino acids, high levels of minerals, and a wide array of unique, even rare, nutrients. Some prominent superfoods include:

A typical VLCD program lasts for 12 to 16 weeks, and the liquid formula completely replaces all usual foods. A structured period of refeeding usually occurs after a VLCD, with solid foods slowly being reintroduced into the patient's diet.
The purpose of VLCDs are to quickly achieve large weight loss while providing adequate nutrition and preserving lean body mass. The mean weight loss for a 12- to 16-week program (including the long-term weight loss of dropouts) is about 20kg [37, 38]. |

That would include things like magnesium and trace minerals such as strontium. Strontium is a mineral you probably haven't heard of before, but when strontium is included in a program of nutritional supplementation, bone density responds very positively.
Milk also contains a lot of calories and saturated animal fats. Neither of these are lacking in the American diet. Far better sources of calcium include foods like broccoli. In fact, a cup of broccoli juice has more calcium than a cup of milk. My favorite source of calcium is the micro-algae known as Spirulina. |

Researchers thought that too much protein would be bad for bone because it would cause an acid pH that would work against the alkalizing minerals, fruits, and vegetables. Much to their surprise, they found that higher protein consumption facilitated better bone density.769
This result is not at all surprising to us. For years, we have told our clients the value of protein to help build bone.
Strength-bearing exercise helps bones because it applies stress to bones, in essence promoting them to break down so they can be built up. |

Further study revealed that such stresses to the body cause a very rapid depletion of water-soluble vitamins and many minerals.
So we have patients with enormously high metabolic demands experiencing rapid depletion of nutrients, and we are supplying them only with sugar, water, and sodium chloride (salt)! Here I was in a medical center mecca, in a neurosurgical training program with some of the most famous neurosurgeons in the country, and we were providing medical care bordering on the medieval. That was the beginning of my studies into nutrition and disease. |

Great Book
There is a great book which talks at length about how politics, the press, and special interests are targeting your rights to vitamins, minerals, herbs, and true information about health. The book is entitled Ephedra Fact and Fiction, authored by Mike Fillon, and published by Woodland Publishing, (800) 777-2665.
Richard Kreider, Ph.D. from Baylor University says, "The book is fascinating, a classic example of how misinformation stemming from various special interest groups and broadcast by the media can cause a political and legal firestorm regarding a supplement. |

BOTTOM LINE
Higher protein intakes do not cause bone loss or osteoporosis, especially in the presence of adequate mineral intakes. In fact, lower protein intakes are associated with more bone loss. For references, go to What's New?/For Your Doctor on JonnyBowden.com.

Vitamins, minerals and Flavonoids
From extensive television advertising, most of us are familiar with vitamin antioxidants such as vitamin A, beta-carotene, vitamin C, and vitamin E. All are powerful antioxidants that neutralize a significant number of free radicals. Less well-known antioxidants are vitamins D and K, magnesium, zinc, and manganese. Also, there are over forty carotenoids and five thousand flavonoids from plants in the human diet that act as antioxidants.
Each antioxidant acts in a different place in the cells and tissues. |

Changes in Nutritional Quality of Milk
Available data on the effects of hormones on the nutritional status and composition of milk, including protein subfractions, vitamins, and minerals, are minimal. However, it is clear that the hormones induce a wide range of measurable changes in milk composition. Increased fat yields and concentrations have been noted (14). |

Loss of minerals could be the culprit. Remember that when you lower your insulin levels, you lose salt and water (but, in the process, lose potassium as well). This, plus the tons of water I hope you're drinking, could conceivably result in enough electrolyte loss to lower blood pressure to the point where you might feel lightheaded or even faint. Replace some of the lost salt with either salty foods or with some table salt. Try 14 teaspoon of potassium chloride (Morton Lite Salt) and 'A teaspoon of table salt to start, and see if that helps. Don't forget to take potassium supplements. |

Plants "know" how to attract to their own rotting only those
87 microorganisms and earthworms, that will produce beneficial minerals for the soil where the plants' siblings will grow. One way plants attract particular microorganisms into their soil is by concentrating more sugars in their roots. Thus roots, like carrots and potatoes, are always much sweeter than the rest of the plant. Plants and microorganisms develop a symbiotic relation, beneficial to both plant and microbe. |

The most important minerals in regard to controlling inflammation are boron, calcium, copper, magnesium, manganese, silica, and zinc. Let's learn about each of these important nutrients.
_BORON_
Recent studies have suggested that boron may play a role in preventing bone-related diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoporosis. Boron is also important to the body's acid-alkaline balance because it enables the body to metabolize and make use of various other nutrients that work to maintain healthy pH levels and prevent inflammation. |
CALCIUM_
Calcium is one of the primary acid-buffering minerals called upon by your body whenever excess acids pose a problem. The consequent depletion of calcium can be dangerous, as calcium is essential for the formation and maintenance of strong bones and teeth, as well as to regulate cardiovascular function, cell division, and muscle and nerve function. Thus, supplementation of this mineral is important to keep the body strong and resistant to a variety of disorders, and to help maintain the slightly alkaline environment that fights inflammation. |
In the body, oxalates chemically bond to minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, creating oxalate salts. These salts can form in the kidneys and/or urinary tract, in the vulvar region, and elsewhere, leading to kidney stone formation, vulvar pain, and, it is thought, pain in other areas of the body.
According to the Vulvar Pain Foundation, the inflammation caused by oxalate-rich foods is best treated by avoiding these foods, while supplementing with calcium citrate and an amino sugar called N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG). |
