The fact of the matter is, with the diet that people are getting, they do not have the B factors or the minerals, so their metabolism is not even working correctly. If your metabolism is not working correctly, you are not making ATP. Chlorella is a tremendous rejuvenator of ATP in the body. Even at a simpler level, those co-factors that you need -- the B vitamins and minerals -- they make that happen. They set the foundation for energy production.
You can have toxic chemicals blocking mitochondria, too. Those are all components. I think the first component is low nutrition. |

You lose almost 100 percent of minerals like magnesium, zinc and calcium when you process these grains. When you live on the processed food diet, you're hungry all the time because your body says, "Keep on eating until I get the right minerals." So, you just keep eating and eating until you become obese. No matter what diet you try, you can't get any thinner because your body still isn't getting the minerals it needs.
If you really want to lose weight, one of the first things you've got to do is start eating organic fruits and vegetables. You must get away from processed foods. |

Even though proteins important to supplement if you are not already eating a high protein diet, it is far more important to supplement trace minerals, macro minerals like magnesium, zinc and calcium; various vitamins including all the B vitamins; plus vitamins C, D and K. In addition, you need to supplement numerous phytonutrients, which means the medicine that comes from plants. Those include various carotenoids like beta keratin or zeaxanthin, lutein, anthocyanidins, Proanthocyanidins like those found in grape seeds or even Resveratrol found in grape skin. |

Ultimately, when you analyze the soil that that plant is growing in, there are certain key minerals that are missing, and if you put those minerals in the soil, all of a sudden that plant's disease goes away. You can take that metaphor and draw it out into animals and humans, and you can see what's really the big thing here. Mineral-deficient food is really the ultimate cause of all the food problems that we have today. That's why we have weakling plants that need to be sprayed with pesticides and have artificial fertilizers. |

The Mini Multi is a relatively low potency multivitamin and mineral that has all coenzyme vitamins in it, as much as I can get. The minerals are Kreb's cycle minerals -- the transporters that the body recognizes, and this particular vitamin has no excipients whatsoever. Nothing. The powder is put into a veggie cap. That is it. This is made for sensitive people. We just came out with this. We had been having it custom formulated in small quantities in the pharmacy for years because we did not think we could find anyone who would manufacture a product with no excipients whatsoever. |

Nutritional supplementation with potent antioxidants, minerals, CoQlO, grape-seed extract, and essential fats do basically the same thing; however, they don't have all the adverse side effects. Again, I always encourage patients to continue taking all their prescription medications along with their supplements. Some MS patients do improve so much that they discuss going off their medication with their physicians. |

Treatment of celiac disease is very dependent on an accurate diagnosis. However, this is a common and notoriously under-diagnosed condition as there is no one easy test to determine whether a patient has celiac disease or not. A strict gluten-free trial, monitoring symptoms closely, is often utilized. If the condition improves then celiac is a likely diagnosis.
Diet: All food substances containing gluten should be avoided. |
A high dose B vitamin and a multivitamin with minerals should be taken as well. Flax oil and fish oil can help relieve the chronic inflammation associated with celiac disease. Vitamin D is also useful to prevent associated osteoporosis.
Medication: To treat severe celiac disease, prednisone is prescribed along with a gluten-free diet.

They can also provide you with important vitamins and minerals. Excessive consumption of simple carbohydrates and sugars may cause dehydration, so limit your intake of these substances.
HOMEOPATHY
Because dehydration can constitute a medical emergency (especially in the very young and the elderly), the first priority is to rehydrate the patient as quickly as possible. Once the body's fluid balance is back to normal, the following remedies can help to ease any feelings of trauma that may remain after being so unwell. See Food Poisoning (p. 382), Diarrhea (p.366), and Vomiting (p. |

With these NPK fertilizers, farmers are able to grow good-looking grains and produce, though the crops remain depleted in all the other necessary minerals. Unfortunately, economics is the driving force behind American agriculture, causing farmers to be more concerned about bushels per acre than the nutrient content of the food they harvest.
Few would argue about the quality of our foods and its decline compared to foods of a generation or two ago. Hybrid grains, vegetables, and fruits have increased in popularity. |

Since we have that technology to process the food cold without losing any of the natural enzymes or minerals or any other compounds, people are saying, "I can take advantage of this." It can be done inexpensively and it can be added to products. It can be added into our diet, and it can be made more available. I find it interesting, because we live in a time where there's more disease, more illness and more people looking for answers; but, always in nature -- it's like God has set it up this way -- the answer is always there when the problem is created. |

• Boron raises estrogen levels, and estrogen preserves bones. Dandelion contains high levels of boron. It also contains a good deal of calcium and silicon.
• Pigweed contains an impressive amount of calcium, as do marjoram, savory, red clover, purslane, and thyme.
• Silicon has been studied for its effect on osteoporosis and has been found to prevent the disorder. |

Bread contains carbohydrates, but it also contains protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.
Milk isn't generally thought of as a carbohydrate, but it contains significant amounts of lactose.. .as well as protein, fat, calcium and, of course, water.
CARBS AND YOUR BODY
The digestive process converts carbohydrates into glucose (blood sugar). That's the basic "fuel" used by every cell in the body.
As the amount of glucose that's circulating in the bloodstream rises, the pancreas boosts its production of insulin. That's the hormone needed to "burn" glucose for energy. |

David's improvement after increasing the amount of grape-seed extract, while continuing with the other antioxidants and minerals, was amazing. The pain in his legs began to subside, and he actually began to walk again. The strength in his legs increased consistently week after week. About two months later, David was able to walk into church on his own for the first time in three years. He still had a significant shuffle to his walk, but he was walking!
David's physician stopped the morphine prescription and documented his patient's improvement. |
Once Matt heard this, he increased his supplements even more and started taking 350 mg of grape-seed extract along with his antioxidants and minerals. He slowly improved and required less and less pain medication, even though he still had intermittent bouts of pain. The process was long and hard as Matt continued to fight fatigue and the flulike symptoms.
By January Matt was feeling much better and was able to make up for lost time by getting back to working ten-hour days. He was thrilled because he had not been able to work at all for about four months. |
Several studies now show that when these minerals are supplemented, especially zinc, ARMD can actually be stabilized and improved.20
Faye's Story
One of my longtime patients accompanied her husband for a checkup. During that visit, Faye told me that she had just been diagnosed with macular degeneration.
While traveling to Texas to see family, she noticed that she just could not see anything clearly. She kept wiping off her glasses and putting them back on only to find that she still could not see well. She decided at that time she needed to get her glasses prescription changed. |

•Get the right kind of fat. Although you should avoid saturated fats (in pork, beef and high-fat dairy products) and hydrogenated fats (in margarine, shortening and many packaged baked goods), certain fats are necessary for hormone regulation and the proper functioning of the nervous system. Known as essential fatty acids (EFAs), these healthy fats help to stabilize blood sugar. |

Functions in the Body—Cholecalciferol acts primarily to maintain bone integrity through enhanced absorption of the minerals required to build and maintain the skeletal structure. While this is vitamin D's main function, studies have revealed other possible roles. When combined with calcium, vitamin D has been found to possess anticancer properties. In some people, low levels of the vitamin may increase blood pressure. Vitamin D also plays a role in the treatment of some immunological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and psoriasis. It may also improve muscle strength. |
If you eat a diet containing too much phosphorus, your body's tendency to balance these two minerals could cause calcium to be pulled from the bones, weakening them. One study that showed that female athletes who drank phosphorus-rich carbonated beverages had more than twice as many fractures as did those who did not drink these beverages.
• Normal phosphorus metabolism requires sufficient amounts of vitamin D. |

FISH
Fish is a wonderful source of protein, vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids. However, the nutritional benefits of omega-3 fatty acids fall short of their hype. Some scientists claim that they are great for the heart as well as for improving children's ability to learn, but all we can say for sure is that omega-3s may be beneficial. with state health or wildlife officials. Unless you know that the water the fish came from is safe, assume that it's not. Consuming a few fish every year from a local lake or stream should be fine, but the health risks climb as you eat more. |

The primary difference between the Super Greens and the Super Berry is that one has vegetable greens and the other has berries. So they are slightly different. The Super Berry is sweetened with tagatose, as well as xylitol, fructooligosaccharides, and a little stevia. In the Super Greens, we have mannitol, xylitol, fructooligosaccharides, and a little stevia. These are' the basic differences.

These wholesome carbs contain "natural sugars" and provide beneficial vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants and are metabolized more slowly in our bodies than processed carbs so that they don't cause blood sugar spikes and a huge insulin overload. Many also tout the benefits of whole grains if you don't have gluten sensitivity. Better carbs also include fiber-filled fruits, which contain all kinds of nutrients and phy-tochemicals. |
Willett adds, "the bran layer of many grains contains essential minerals, such as magnesium, selenium, copper, and manganese that may be important in reducing the risk of heart disease and diabetes." should we trust new whole-grain cereals from food companies?

KELP is included in this blend to provide nutritional support to the nervous system and heart, in the form of vitamins, minerals and cell salts. In addition, it supplies a hypotensive principle. This property is likely to have a sparing effect on cardiac and neural tissues, i.e., it saves them from unnecessary stress, prolongs their effective lifetime, and increases their efficiency during daily use. Japanese researchers found that Laminaria exhibits definite hypotensive and blood cholesterol lowering activity when given to rabbits and humans (18-20). |
