It also provides enzymes, vitamins, and minerals the immune system needs to function properly.
Astragalus boosts the immune system and generates anticancer cells in the body. It also stimulates the activity of T-helper cells (the type of immune cell depleted by HIV/ AIDS), acts as an antioxidant, protects the liver from toxins, and boosts energy. You should not use this herb if you have a fever, however, as it can make fever worse.
Bayberry, fenugreek, hawthorn, horehound, licorice root, and red clover all enhance the immune response. |

When the pharmaceutical companies control this industry they will either raise the prices dramatically and start charging you exorbitant prices for all-natural herbs, vitamins, and minerals, or they will simply take them off the market since they will control them, therefore, making it impossible for you to have natural options to drugs. This is being systematically done so that the pharmaceutical industry can control and monopolize health care. This should be a violation of antitrust laws. The politicians do absolutely nothing. |

Irradiation also reduces levels of essential nutrients in food, especially vitamins A, C, E, and the B complex. Cooking irradiated food reduces these levels further. A Japanese study found vitamin C content of potatoes reduced nearly 50 percent. The industry admits to this but suggests that the problem could be taken care of by vitamin supplements. But the decrease in these vitamins suggests that other related nutrients and beneficial plant substances, not available through supplements, may also have been decreased. |

Vitamins A, D-3, and C are all essential in the metabolism of bones.
Adults require 1 to 1.5 G of phosphorus daily and about 1 to 1.5 grams of calcium. The need increases to 1.5 G for nursing and pregnant women. Milk and dairy products are good sources if the individual is not allergic to them. Too much phosphorus, such as is provided by a high protein diet, will decrease retention of calcium by bones and is a main factor in osteoporosis.
Magnesium
The adult body contains about 25 grams of magnesium, half in the bones. |

So these are ingredients that, when consumed, will tend to deplete certain vitamins and minerals from the body. You can read some of the studies on that at Google Scholar.
Put another way, you could get practically the same nutrition by drinking a can of soda and taking a tiny, low-grade multivitamin. That would be almost identical to this product, in my opinion. Not exactly the same, but very similar. And yet here for 32 oz, this product sells for around $5. You can get 32 oz of soft drinks for a fraction of that price and it gives you much of the same ingredients. |

As a nation we have managed to force a handful of minerals and vitamins into the food supply that prevent only the most grotesque and physically obvious disorders and diseases caused by nutritional deficiencies. And by the way, those are the only ones that really get addressed through the food supply.
If there is an obvious and immediate link between nutrition and a particular disease such as birth defects caused by a lack of folic acid, then of course this gets recognized and addressed very quickly. |

It has no live food enzymes, there are no whole foods in here, there are no high-density superfood sources, there are no vegetables from the sea, there are no health-supporting herbs, and even the vitamins and minerals that it does offer are not in their optimum form for maximum bioavailability.
Interestingly, Ensure is a product that typifies what's for sale at places like Walgreen's and Wal-Mart. |
By the way, these top three ingredients so far -- water, sugar, and corn syrup -- offer virtually nothing in terms of vitamins, minerals and similar nutrition. These are basically empty calories and they have nothing of nutritive value to offer to the consumer. Maybe we'll find better nutrition further down the ingredients list, so let's keep looking.
The next thing we find is maltodextrin, derived from corn. Maltodextrin is yet another refined carbohydrate that's high on the glycemic index list. So now we have the top four ingredients: water, sugar, corn syrup and maltodextrin. |

As is the case for other trace elements (and a few vitamins), too much copper is toxic—headaches, nausea, and potentially fatal kidney damage is possible.
PrPc seems to have a particular affinity for copper. In 1995, Martin P. Hanshaw and his colleagues at the MRC Neurochemical Pathology Unit of Newcastle General Hospital in the U.K. conducted a test-tube study using a synthetically generated stretch of PrPc. They found that the octapeptide region of the protein prefers to bind to copper rather than to other metals. |

I find that magnet therapy, yoga, meditation, biofeedback, and chiropractic adjustment also help with this. |

So essentially, what you have here with Ensure, is a predominantly sugar-water product that has been fortified with a few vitamins and minerals. With that in mind, let's go back to the front label and take a look at all of the claims. It says, 'Complete, balanced nutrition to help stay healthy, active, and energetic.'
Well, perhaps the only word that's true here is 'energetic' because in the food industry, energy is typically associated with sugar. |

Take B complex vitamins at 100 mg; this is needed and beneficial at this unusually high dosage, but after one month, bring the dosage down to 50 mg. Niacin, vitamin E, and the essential fatty acids are all important.
But above all, you must stay away from anything that will create a quick fix! Do not ever eat the simple carbohydrate foods that are absorbed too rapidly into the bloodstream.

Vitamins and Minerals: Due to the processing of foods and the depletion of minerals in the soil, it is virtually impossible to obtain an optimal intake of vitamins and minerals from the diet alone. Supplementation is necessary if optimal health is the goal.
Vitamin-mineral supplementation has been demonstrated to improve the academic performance and behavior of school children. Although this is a simple statement, its implications are profound. |

Wild carrot seeds contain flavonoids, and a volatile oil containing asaron and carotol, pinene, limonene, daucol, gerianol.
Cultivated carrot leaves contain significant amounts of porphyrins, which stimulate the pituitary gland and lead to the release of increased level of sex hormones.
The juice of organically grown carrots is a cleansing medicine, detoxifier, supports the liver, stimulates urine flow.
Wild carrot leaves and seeds also possess diuretic properties. |

The antioxidant army is a complex system of human defense in which vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and certain enzymes guard your health. Antioxidants are substances that react chemically with free radicals to disarm them. Antioxidants break the vicious cycle of the decomposition of proteins and fatty aids, which would otherwise create new free radicals, leading to premature aging and cell death. |

He drank a lot of soda and coffee, and rarely ate fresh fruits or vegetables. When he started cesium high pH therapy, he cut out all soda and coffee and drank lots of good water instead. He avoided sugar and refined carbohydrates, and reduced his intake of red meat while eating more fish and chicken. He also greatly increased his intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and started juicing mostly green vegetables as well. |

Brussels Sprouts
(Brassica o/eracea, Gemmifera group)
The Latin name Brassica derives from the Celtic bresic. The term oleracea refers to a vegetable garden herb that is used in cooking; the term gemmifera, meaning "diamond maker," comes from this vegetable's reputed ability to enhance mental prowess. These little cabbages carry the name brusseb because they were first grown in Brussels, Belgium. |

The AHA has, for decades, denied any benefit whatsoever from vitamins, minerals or nutritional supplements. In fact it was only grudgingly and reluctantly dragged into the era of nutrition after being confronted with a mountain of undeniable evidence in support of nutrition for heart health.
For decades, the AHA actually prescribed a diet that avoided all heart-healthy oils, such as cod liver oil, salmon oil, fish oils, omega-3 oil, primrose oil and other dietary oils. The AHA told people that consuming any of these oils would increase their risk of heart disease. |

6. Reduce stress.
7. Use our mind and words to create a healthy alkaline body pH, and actually change genetically defective DNA structures into normal healthy DNA structures.

Research also suggest that if you consume shiitake mushrooms, ginger and garlic on a daily basis, your immune system function will be strongly enhanced, dramatically boosting your defense against any flu. |
